Hi, I'm Alisa! I’m a mother of three and a professional birth and postpartum doula who believes that the most empowering births aren’t defined by how “easy” labor is, but by how supported, informed, and connected a mother feels. After supporting hundreds of hospital births and teaching childbirth education to thousands of women, I’ve learned that true empowerment comes from agency—knowing your options, trusting your intuition, and preparing for the birth you hope for as well as the birth you may have.
I’ve supported over 100 hospital births through my private practice, my work at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, and my volunteer service with the U.S. Navy through Operation Doula. I train under OB-GYN Dr. Bill Chun to maintain a high level of clinical excellence and stay current with evidence-based childbirth practices. My approach is rooted in calm, clarity, and real-world experience from the frontlines of labor and delivery, helping families cut through overwhelm and focus on what truly matters.
I’m also the founder of Let’s Talk Birthy, a heart-centered pregnancy, birth, and postpartum education and support company. Through this work, I’ve taught thousands of women—especially first-time and high-risk mothers—how to move from fear to preparedness, creating safe, healthy, and joyful hospital births and strong beginnings to motherhood. Every birth carries a story, and it’s an honor to walk alongside families as they bring new life into the world.
Doulas offer a variety of services, primarily focused on providing emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
