Hi, I’m Avila. I’m a mother, foster parent, and birth worker with over seven years of experience supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Hi, I'm Avila (pronounced AH-vih-luh)! I've been blessed with two biological children and multiple children in the foster care system. My first pregnancy was challenging, and my birth experience left me feeling powerless, violated, and full of anxiety. So when I became pregnant a second time, my fear about labor was almost unmanageable.
Then came my God-send of a midwife (shout out to Saba!). She was the first medical professional to truly humanize me, empathize with me, and validate my experience, she made me feel seen and heard in a way I'd never felt in a medical office. That gave me confidence my second labor would be better than my first… but nothing prepared me for what came next.
After laboring at home for five hours, my husband and I got into our car for the short seven-minute drive to the hospital, but my son just couldn't wait. At the crazy intersection of Sunset and Hillhurst (iykyk!), he was born right there in the car. What could have been a scary situation became an epic, magical experience I'll forever be grateful for. I had a redemptive birth.
The impact of support during one of life's most life-changing and vulnerable times makes all the difference in the world, and that's what has called me here. I'm here to help you have the birth and postpartum experience YOU want. I want you to feel heard, seen, and safe, and to feel empowered in your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. You don't have to walk through this alone, and I would be honored to walk alongside you in this beautiful life that has been entrusted to you.
My philosophy is simple: I'm not here to get you the birth or postpartum experience I want, I'm here to help you have the experience YOU want. This is your journey, your body, and your story, and my role is to support the vision that's right for you.
I provide informational, emotional, and physical support every step of the way. Having walked my own path from a difficult first birth to a redemptive, empowering second one, I know firsthand how much it matters to feel truly heard, seen, and safe, and that's exactly what I strive to offer every family I serve.
Overall, my goal is to help you feel heard, seen, safe, and empowered, and it's my honor to walk alongside you in this beautiful life you've been entrusted with. You don't have to do this alone.
