My name is Dawneshia Logo, also known as Ma Hood Doula. I started my training during the pandemic in October of 2020. I saw a need within my community to support women and mothers and after giving birth to my son in 2018 via caesarean I had time to reflect on my experience and how I longed for additional support during that pregnancy, birth and postpartum stage. In 2020 after having an amazing and empowered VBAC with my 2nd to youngest daughter that sense of urgency to become a doula was magnified. I wanted mothers to feel empowered during their pregnancy, labor/ birth especially in the postpartum stage.
