Hi, my name is Elizabeth “Ellie.” I was born and raised in Tovaangar (Los Angeles, CA), and my parents and lineage come from Nahuatl-speaking lands in what is now called Jalisco and Colima, Mexico.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth "Ellie" Guzman! I'm a birthworker, community organizer, and mother born and raised in Tovaangar (Los Angeles, CA), with roots in Nahuatl-speaking lands in what is now called Jalisco and Colima, Mexico. My journey into birthwork grew organically from years of community organizing and a deepening connection to my own cultural practices, ancestral wisdom, and land-based work. I come to this sacred work with a profound desire to breathe life into a world rooted in our cultural and ancestral gifts—and I offer my services in both English and Spanish, so that more families can be supported in the language of their hearts.
I honor birth and postpartum as ceremony—transformative rites of passage for the birthing parent, baby, and family as a whole. I hold families both practically and spiritually as they embark on the incredible journey into parenthood, creating space for care, connection, and deep reverence for this life-changing transition. I see dignified, culturally rooted birthwork as a path forward: a basket strong enough to hold both our personal and collective transformation.
I bring my experience as a mother, my spiritual practice, and years of community learning into every family I support. Whether you are navigating pregnancy, birth, or the postpartum season, I humbly offer my energy, presence, and care to you and your loved ones during this sacred time—honoring who you are, where you come from, and the new life you are bringing into the world.
