Hi, I'm Estelle Ross! I'm a mother of four and a dedicated doula with a passion for walking alongside families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My own experiences with motherhood shaped my heart for women who may feel alone on this journey, and I'm especially committed to supporting Black maternal health and creating safe, empowering spaces for every mother and birthing person. This work is truly my calling.
As a doula, I support families through pregnancy and birth with care and understanding. I help create birth plans that fit each family's needs and walk with them as they prepare for the experience ahead. I also make sure loved ones feel ready to be part of the journey, building a strong and supportive environment for both parents and baby.
I believe birth is a significant life event, not just a medical one; it deserves preparation, respect, and thoughtful support. My role as a doula is not to replace medical care or take control of the room, but to provide steady presence, clear information, and practical support so families can make informed decisions that feel right for them. I value collaboration with medical providers, because respectful communication benefits everyone involved.
I also believe birth goes more smoothly, and with less unnecessary trauma, when partners feel confident and involved. So I intentionally support partners, helping them understand what's happening, feel prepared to participate, and know how to offer meaningful comfort. I might demonstrate techniques, offer quiet guidance, or step back when connection is flowing naturally; my aim is never to take their place, but to strengthen the bond between them in one of the most important moments of their lives.
Through both my work and my studies in public health, I've become increasingly aware of the broader systems that shape maternal outcomes, and the reality that not every family enters the birth space on equal footing. Because of this, I'm mindful of disparities, especially those impacting Black women and families of color. I approach each birth with cultural awareness, a trauma-informed lens, and a commitment to helping clients feel informed and respected within the healthcare system.
I believe informed consent matters, that preparation can transform experiences, and that when people feel heard, supported, and surrounded by a steady team, they move through birth with greater confidence. My practice is rooted in humility, continued education, and a deep respect for the families who invite me into such an important moment, and my goal is for you to feel informed, respected, and empowered every step of the way.
