Hi, my name is Hannah, the face behind Helpful Hands Doula. I’m a mom of two (ages 5 and almost 4) and have been happily married to my sweet husband for the past decade. I am a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula as well as a Certified Childbirth Educator, and I’m passionate about supporting families as they navigate the transformative journey into parenthood. My work focuses on creating a nurturing and empowering environment where parents feel confident, supported, and truly seen. Education is at the heart of what I do. I believe every family deserves access to evidence-based information and resources so they can make informed decisions and give true informed consent throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
My philosophy is simple: love the mom. Becoming a mother — or transitioning into motherhood again with multiples — is beautiful, but it can also be incredibly challenging. I strive to walk alongside mothers with compassion, encouragement, and practical support. Having experienced a traumatic birth myself, I bring a deep level of empathy and understanding to the families I serve. I pride myself on being approachable, listening without judgment, and offering guidance while providing hands-on labor support, including comfort techniques and positions that help baby engage and labor progress.
In the postpartum period, my focus remains on caring for the mother so she can heal and adjust to life with her new baby. Sometimes that means holding the baby so she can shower, helping with simple household tasks like unloading the dishwasher if bending is difficult after a C-section, or simply sitting with her as she processes her birth experience. Whether the moment calls for practical help or emotional support, I aim to create a safe, compassionate space where mothers feel cared for, heard, and supported during this tender transition.
