My name is Iyana Gross and I am originally from Chicago but currently based in San Diego. I am a full spectrum doula who is intentional about supporting moms and birthing people through their birthing journeys. BIrth is a sacred space and I am passionate about protecting the integrity of a birthing person’s experience by ensuring preferences are not only heard, but honored. I also provide critical, hands on support during the the postpartum period.
I have a masters in Narrative Medicine and I did this program to learn more about how to be intentional in empathizing and understanding client stories to increase the support I can offer.
Support for clients is individualized. I recognize that every person and every birthing journey is unique, and I tailor my approach to a family's cultural customs and preferences. I offer information that is supported by research and practices that the birth work community supports. I encourage birthing people to be vulnerable, and I am intentional about supporting every aspect of their healing journey, including mental, emotional, and physical.
