About Me

Hi, I'm Jalisa Burton! I am a birth and postpartum doula, Coast Guard veteran, and co-founder of Divine Birthing Services, a mother-daughter doula team serving families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Supporting families during such an important season of life is truly my calling.

I believe every family deserves compassionate, personalized support and access to the information they need to make confident decisions for themselves and their baby. My role is to provide encouragement, practical guidance, and a steady presence throughout your journey into parenthood. Families often describe me as approachable, dependable, and easy to talk to.

Practice Philosophy

Pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period can bring excitement, uncertainty, joy, and sometimes unexpected challenges. I believe families deserve knowledgeable, compassionate support that helps them feel prepared, informed, and confident every step of the way. My role as a doula is to provide practical guidance, reliable information, emotional support, and a steady presence as families explore their options, prepare for labor, welcome their baby, and adjust to life after birth.

During pregnancy, I help families prepare by discussing preferences, answering questions, reviewing comfort measures, and providing education tailored to their unique needs, encouraging open conversations so they can make informed decisions and feel confident advocating for themselves within their healthcare team. During labor and birth, I offer continuous support through encouragement, comfort techniques, positioning, relaxation strategies, and evidence-based information, so families feel supported, respected, and cared for regardless of how labor unfolds. After birth, I continue alongside families as they recover, learn their baby's cues, establish feeding goals, and navigate the emotional and physical changes of welcoming a child, because I believe postpartum care is just as important as birth preparation.

As a Coast Guard veteran and co-founder of Divine Birthing Services, I bring a strong foundation of service, advocacy, and community connection to my work. Overall, my goal is for every family to feel supported, informed, respected, and never alone on their journey into parenthood.
