Hi, I'm Jamila! I am a birth and postpartum doula, peer coach, lactation educator, and proud mother of six. My own journey, from a cesarean birth to a healing home birth, inspired me to support other families through one of the most important seasons of their lives. Walking alongside families during this time is truly my calling.
I am passionate about providing compassionate, culturally responsive care that helps parents feel informed, supported, and confident. I specialize in postpartum recovery, emotional wellness, lactation support, and family advocacy.
My goal is to ensure every family feels seen, heard, and empowered throughout their journey into parenthood.
My philosophy is that every mother deserves to feel seen, heard, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I believe birth is more than a medical event—it is a life-changing experience that deserves compassionate, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care.
As a Black mother of six, with experiences ranging from a cesarean birth to a home birth attended by a Black midwife and doula, I understand firsthand how important it is for families to feel empowered and respected. My role is not to make decisions for my clients, but to educate, encourage, advocate, and hold space so they can make informed choices that align with their values and goals.
Whether I am providing emotional support during labor, helping a family adjust after birth, supporting breastfeeding, or simply making sure a new mother has time to rest, eat, and heal, I strive to create a safe, nurturing environment where families feel confident, cared for, and never alone. Overall, my goal is to help every family feel seen, heard, and empowered as they move through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood.
