Hello, I'm Kerynn (pronounced like Corinne or 'kur-inn')! I was born and raised in Sacramento, California, and have two beautiful children, who have profoundly shaped my journey as a doula. I truly believe everyone is deserving of compassionate care and support, no matter your background, gender, color, religion, or anything else. I stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and support all types of birth, including plus size, VBACs, hospital births, home births, birthing centers, IVF, high risk, and more.

Hi, I'm Kerynn (pronounced like Corinne, or "kur-inn")! I was born and raised in Sacramento, California, and I have two beautiful children who have profoundly shaped my journey as a doula. I became a doula in 2019 and have since served over 70 families in the Sacramento area. I'm a Certified Birth Doula (CD), Certified Postpartum Doula (CPD), Certified Childbirth Educator (CBE), Lactation Consultant Assistant (LCA), and Certified Lactation Peer Counselor, with most of my education through the International Doula Institute (IDI) and American River College. But while I've invested deeply in my education, my experience in the birth room and in the homes of new parents has been my greatest teacher. This work is truly my calling.
After the pregnancy and birth of my son, I became deeply passionate about women's health, especially all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My first birth experience left me reeling, and I realized just how important and transformative this time is for new mothers. I began to see the gaps in how our society cares for its mothers, and how the idea that "it takes a village" is nearly impossible for so many. Once I began working as a doula, I fell in love with the supportive side of birth and postpartum—working directly with new parents is exactly where I want to be, and I hope to continue this work long into the future!
My passion for childbirth and my love of learning keep me current with the latest research and studies; my favorite resources are Spinning Babies and Evidence-Based Birth. I also love weaving in what I've learned through herbalism, nutrition, Ayurveda, and other holistic practices, which shapes both my outlook and the way I care for mothers and birthing people.
In my downtime, I love to read, exercise, spend time out and about with friends, and, of course, be with my family. Though I'd call myself a bubbly introvert, connecting with people on a deeper level matters deeply to me, and that's one of the most important skills I bring to my work: building genuine connection and trust with every client. I truly believe everyone deserves compassionate care and support, no matter their background, gender, color, religion, or anything else. I stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and support all types of birth, plus-size, VBAC, hospital, home, birth center, IVF, high-risk, and more.
Families were never meant to do this alone! I truly believe that support and guidance through such a big event is so important, because birth, in all its forms, deserves a village. As much as I trust birth as a physiological process that our bodies know how to do, I also know there are so many ways birth can look, and each one calls for its own kind of support.
My philosophy is that birth is a normal, natural process, and that when we leave a low-risk, healthy birth alone, things tend to go smoothly more often than not. At the same time, I completely support the need and preference for interventions; there really is no right or wrong way. What matters most is that you have full, informed consent in every decision, because that's where true empowerment comes from, even when things change from what you hoped or expected.
One of my main focuses is helping with your baby's positioning to encourage an easier, faster labor and promote progress. I pay close attention to how certain labor positions can help, while keeping your environment as calm and peaceful as possible so you can focus on the hard work without fear.
As a strong advocate of informed consent, I'm here to walk with you through those important decision-making conversations. Overall, my goal is to make sure you never feel alone, supported, informed, and empowered to move through birth in whatever way is right for you.
