About Me
Hi, I'm Mara! I'm a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, and certified lactation counselor based in Los Angeles. I studied psychology and child development and later moved into hands-on newborn and postpartum support in my 30s, bringing both academic training and lived experience into my work with families.
I grew up in a family and community where caregiving was a shared responsibility, with multigenerational exposure to birth, breastfeeding, and postpartum support. That early foundation, combined with my own experience becoming a parent during the COVID era, shapes my calm, practical, and empathetic approach to care.
My work is built on evidence-based, trauma-informed care focused on secure attachment, newborn care, feeding support, sleep education, and parental recovery. I offer inclusive support for all family structures and identities, collaborative and informative guidance tailored to your goals, family-centered care, practical hands-on support, and help building sustainable routines that align with your values. I also work within a trusted referral network to ensure families receive comprehensive, well-coordinated support, and I make referrals to trusted specialists when care extends beyond my scope.
I support families by offering clear guidance, encouragement, and sustainable systems that help you feel confident, rested, and empowered during the postpartum period.
