Hello there.
I am a queer doula who is compassionate, energetic, and supportive. I welcome families from all walks of life, hoping that I may hold your hand as you walk this next season. I work from an evidence-based lens, offering education, research, and ancient wisdom to my clients. I am childless, though an auntie to 7! I have had the honor and privilege of being so involved with the care of my nieces and nephews. Since becoming a doula, I have found my calling in helping families go through the massive transformation that is bringing a new baby into the world. I am currently undergoing course work to become an IBCLC and I hope to become an evidence-based birth educator soon.
I believe the beauty in the perinatal experience is transformation. Much like a butterfly cocoons, I am only there to make the cocoon more comfortable, but the pregnant person instinctively knows how to complete their transformation. Learning new things of the self, bringing new life and personality into the world and home. Through all of this transformation, the only goal of mine is that the birthing person, the baby, and the family walk away with the least trauma possible, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Some trauma is out of our hands, but wherever we can, doulas cover the families in more compassion, more patience, more education, or more love to help mitigate that potential for harm.
