Hi, I’m Marisa, a birth and postpartum doula with over 20 years of experience working with children as a preschool teacher, nanny, swim instructor, and lifeguard. I’m also a mother to a 7-month-old daughter, which has deepened my passion for supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My approach is compassionate, calm, and individualized, focused on helping parents feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.
My philosophy around prenatal, birth, and postpartum support is rooted in respect, education, and personalized care. With my background as a preschool teacher and more than two decades of nanny experience, I understand that every child and family is unique—there is no one-size-fits-all approach to care.
During the prenatal period, I focus on helping families feel prepared, empowered, and emotionally supported as they transition into parenthood. During labor, I provide steady, nonjudgmental support, advocating for parents’ preferences while helping them stay grounded and confident. In the postpartum period, I prioritize nurturing both baby and parents by creating a supportive environment that encourages rest, bonding, and confidence in newborn care. My goal is always to meet families where they are, offering reassurance, practical guidance, and compassionate support every step of the way.
