Hi, my name is Maya. Wild Hare Healing—a creation of birth worker, herbalist, and educator M. Smith—is a living repository of care, knowledge, and support for all individuals, whether birthing or not. This work offers access to forms of care often missing from traditional medical spaces, creating room for a more holistic and human-centered experience.
As a public health researcher, M works at the intersection of ancestral wisdom and modern knowledge, weaving both together to support birthing experiences that feel deeply aligned and true to each individual. Their approach is rooted in ethics, equity, and a commitment to being radically inclusive and unbiased.
M’s training is grounded in a long lineage of birth workers and caretakers. Their work extends far beyond birth, encompassing clinical herbalism, womb massage and bodywork, fertility support, perinatal yoga, lactation education, and whole-body wellness. They are Black, queer, and a native of Los Angeles, California, and are currently continuing their path as a midwifery student.
