About Me

Hi, my name is Megan. I am a birth and postpartum doula, mother of three, and the founder of Pneuma Bloom, serving families throughout Humboldt County, California. Originally from Ohio, I always felt a deep knowing that life would eventually lead me elsewhere. In my early twenties, I made the leap to California, seeking community and connection with people who shared my curiosity about healing, embodiment, and the deeper transitions of life. My early work began in the world of women’s embodiment and yoga after completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training. I was drawn to supporting women through powerful life thresholds, and I began offering feminine yoga classes and crystal healing sessions for women seeking deeper connection with themselves.

During this time, I also carried a quiet longing to become a mother. Pregnancy fascinated me, especially the profound transformation that a woman’s body, mind, and spirit undergo while creating life. When I discovered I was pregnant with my first child, everything shifted. My own pregnancy became an initiation. I immersed myself in learning about pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, exploring practices like Hypnobirthing, meditation, and mindful movement while documenting my journey along the way. Through this experience, my path toward birth work became clear. Motherhood deepened my understanding of the transformation families move through during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum weeks. After the births of my children, I felt called to support other women as they moved through these same thresholds. Today, as a trained doula and mother of three, I support families across Humboldt County through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

My approach blends practical support, emotional grounding, and intuitive care to help families feel informed, supported, and deeply held during one of the most powerful transitions of their lives. Through Pneuma Bloom, my intention is simple: to walk beside mothers and families during the sacred unfolding of birth and early parenthood. During labor and birth, I offer a calm and grounding presence along with practical comfort measures such as movement, positioning, breath support, and partner guidance. My goal is to help create an environment where the birthing person feels safe, respected, and supported as their body does the work it was designed to do. In the postpartum period, I support families as they transition into life with their new baby. This may include newborn care guidance, breastfeeding support, emotional reassurance, and practical help so parents can rest and recover. I believe the postpartum period deserves just as much care and attention as pregnancy and birth, and I strive to ensure families feel supported and never alone during this important time. Overall, my philosophy centers on honoring the natural wisdom of the birthing body while offering compassionate, steady support so families can move through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood feeling confident, cared for, and empowered.
