Hi, my name is Mohini. I’m a full-spectrum doula serving Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, San Francisco, and Santa Clara counties. Birth is a transformational and sacred moment; I am a firm believer that your birth story is yours to shape, regardless of setting or circumstance. As your birth doula, I am dedicated to ensuring you feel empowered, supported, and deeply connected to your body every step of the way. My path as a doula began in January 2025, when I began apprenticing under Leonora Willis (Daughter of Samoa) and trained with Renata Provost (Hospital Friendly Doula). Through this mentorship, I have been guided in traditional postpartum healing practices, including yoni steaming, rebozo massage (using the traditional scarf of Indigenous Mexico), belly binding, womb massage, and herbal baths. I bring to this work my own background in Ayurvedic medicine and herbalism, honoring the powerful synergy between plant medicine and the body’s innate ability to heal and restore during the postpartum period.
I support families through both birth and postpartum by offering nourishing meal preparation, education on physiological birth, emotional support, intuitive bodywork, and grounding, comforting presence. Whether it’s holding space during labor, encouraging movement and positioning, or tending to your recovery afterward, my care is rooted in attentiveness, respect, and deep compassion. I feel wholeheartedly that this work is my life’s calling. It is an honor to walk alongside families as they shape their birth stories and transition into parenthood with intention and support.
I believe all birthing people deserve a labor and postpartum experience where they feel safe, held, and empowered. In a world where birth is often highly medicalized—where many give birth in hospital systems, navigate insurance structures, and return to work far too soon—I see my role as helping bring autonomy, embodiment, and a sense of sacredness back to this experience. I am passionate about honoring the physiology of labor through prenatal education, movement, and intuitive support, while also creating space for each individual’s unique path—free from pressure or expectation. Above all, I am committed to deeply honoring Indigenous traditions and ancestral knowledge surrounding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I approach this work with reverence, humility, and a lifelong dedication to learning traditional healing practices, nourishment, and ceremony.
