Hi, I'm N'Keya! Not only as a doula, but as a mother myself, I truly believe that every birthing person deserves to experience childbearing in its truest, most beautiful way. There are going to be times when you are not feeling your best, overcome with self-doubt, especially about the unknown, which is why I fully understand the importance of making sure you feel safe, heard, and supported during this vulnerable time. This is why I am so passionate about what I do, and supporting families through this journey is truly my calling. I focus on helping to create a space where no birthing person ever feels alone, and I also help partners feel confident and prepared so the birthing person feels confident about their wants when it comes to welcoming new life.
Together, we focus on comfort, coping, communication, and creating a calm, connected experience for everyone involved, and most importantly, I honor the mother's overall wishes about everything else. My goal is to make sure every birthing person feels seen, supported, powerful, and never alone as they step into and beyond this journey.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every woman deserves to feel safe, informed, supported, and, most importantly, respected throughout her pregnancy journey. No matter how a person chooses to experience birth, whether that includes an epidural and pain medication, an unmedicated birth, a planned or unplanned cesarean, or even a miscarriage or abortion, every birth experience is unique in its own way, and there is no single style or right way to experience it. Regardless of a family's preferences or outcome, it is my duty to make sure we curate the birthing plan that is right for their specific needs.
Overall, my goal is to help every birthing person feel safe, informed, supported, and respected as they move through their own unique journey, whatever that journey looks like.
