Hi, I'm Keyz! I'm a Chicago native currently living in Sacramento, California. I first found my passion for maternal and infant health while studying Public Health at The Ohio State University, and after moving to California, I wanted to expand my knowledge from prevention and education into intervention. With a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a minor in women's health, I bring a clinical perspective to doula support.
Since becoming a behavioral health nurse, I've expanded my perinatal care to focus on maternal mental health, supporting clients psychologically and emotionally as they navigate parenthood. I offer access to information, tools, and resources that help families sustain wellness over a lifetime. As a certified doula and cannabis consultant, I also aim to educate, normalize, and advocate for the use of therapeutic cannabis in women's health, particularly in birth and postpartum care.
My goal is to help heal communities of color that have been impacted by the war on drugs by reducing barriers to accessing cannabis and to improve birth outcomes for Black birthing people by restoring the cultural and medicinal connection between cannabis and womb health for all members of the African diaspora. This work is truly my calling.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that birth is a natural, physiological process that should be witnessed and supported, not managed and governed. I believe everyone involved in the birthing process should aim to maintain a harmonious environment and to continually respect and uphold each person's bodily autonomy.
Drawing on my background as a nurse and behavioral health clinician, I bring both clinical insight and deep attention to maternal mental and emotional wellness. I offer information, tools, and resources that help families feel informed and supported, while honoring each person's right to make the choices that are right for them.
Overall, my goal is to help you feel respected, supported, and empowered, witnessed in your birth, grounded in your autonomy, and cared for in body, mind, and spirit.
