Hi, I'm Regina, the heart behind LOCD IN DOULA! As a Black lesbian mother, wife, and experienced full-spectrum doula, I understand firsthand how important it is to have care that feels safe, affirming, compassionate, and truly supportive.
My connection to birth work began before I ever gave birth myself. I supported families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum while still carrying my own fear and uncertainty about what giving birth would someday be like for me. Through years of supporting others, continuing my education, and eventually experiencing pregnancy and birth myself, my understanding of this work became even deeper. This journey is truly my calling.
I also bring the unique perspective of having experienced parenthood as both a non-gestational parent and a gestational parent. I understand what it means to be the person giving birth, as well as the partner standing beside the person they love, wanting to support them, advocate for them, and be fully included in the experience. Those perspectives have shaped the way I care for not only the birthing person, but their partner and family as a whole.
For over eleven years, I have worked with families, providing emotional, physical, and informational support. Today, I support clients through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, pregnancy loss, miscarriage, abortion, and other reproductive transitions. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, a trained abortion doula, and a Certified Lactation Educator, with additional training in holistic wellness practices.
My approach combines compassionate, culturally aware, holistic, and evidence-based support. I am especially passionate about serving Black, LGBTQIA+, and other historically underserved communities, while welcoming and affirming families of all backgrounds, identities, and family structures.
I believe there is no single right way to experience pregnancy, birth, feeding, postpartum, or reproductive care. My role is not to make decisions for a family, but to make sure they have information, support, reassurance, and a judgment-free space to make the choices that are right for them. My goal is to walk alongside every family, whether they are trying to conceive, preparing for birth, navigating an unexpected change, seeking abortion or loss support, beginning their feeding journey, or adjusting to postpartum life, so they feel heard, respected, informed, and supported every step of the way.
My philosophy is centered on providing compassionate, individualized, and nonjudgmental support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I believe every family deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and supported, regardless of their background, identity, family structure, birth preferences, or pregnancy outcome.
During pregnancy, I focus on education, preparation, informed decision-making, and helping families feel confident advocating for themselves. During labor and birth, I provide continuous emotional and physical support while respecting each family's choices and working alongside their partner and medical team. I do not believe there is one right way to give birth. My role is to support the birth each family wants while helping them navigate changes if things do not go according to plan.
Postpartum, my approach continues with nurturing the entire family. I provide emotional support, newborn and lactation education, practical guidance, and space for families to process their birth experience and transition into parenthood.
Overall, I want every family to know that this is their journey. My role is not to make decisions for them, but to provide education, advocacy, reassurance, and a safe space so they feel empowered to make the decisions that are right for themselves and their families.
