Shannon is a DONA Certified birth doula with a deep passion for supporting families during one of life's most meaningful transitions. Walking alongside families through this season is truly her calling.
With a BA in Psychology and experience in the mental health field, Shannon brings a calm, grounded presence and a strong understanding of the emotional and physical changes that come with labor, birth, and welcoming a new baby.
Her goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care that helps families feel confident, supported, and truly seen every step of the way.
My philosophy is rooted in giving my clients evidence-based education around labor, birth, and postpartum to best prepare them for their journey. With a background in psychology and mental health, I aim to support the family as a whole, including the other support people in the room, whether that's a partner, family members, or friends.
During labor and birth, my hands-on or hands-off approach is always based on the needs of the client. I help create a calm, safe environment, in or out of the hospital, that allows the birthing person to operate the way their body is designed to, stepping in for support only when needed. In a hospital setting especially, I care deeply about advocating for my clients, preparing them in our prenatal sessions for what to expect, and helping them voice their needs during birth.
Overall, my hope is that everyone I work with comes away with a birth experience they can smile back on.
