Hi, my name is Sophie. I believe birth changes a woman — not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. How supported you feel during that time matters more than most people realize. I’m a birth and postpartum doula based in Los Angeles, and I’ve supported more than 100 families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period.

What I’ve witnessed time and time again is that when a woman feels truly held and seen, she is able to move through this season with far more strength, clarity, and grace. My work blends evidence-based education with steady, grounded emotional support. I help families understand their options, regulate the nervous system, nourish the body, and prepare for birth in a way that feels empowering rather than overwhelming. I support hospital births, birth center births, and home births, and I believe birth is safest when women feel safe — physically, emotionally, and physiologically. That sense of safety is built through preparation, advocacy, nutrition, and compassionate presence.
As a single mother myself, I understand just how transformative and vulnerable this chapter of life can be. My goal is not simply to help you get through birth, but to help you step into motherhood feeling strong, steady, and supported. My approach is grounded in three core pillars: preparation, nervous system regulation, and nourishment. During pregnancy, we do the deeper work of preparing you for the full spectrum of birth — not just the version you hope for, but all the possibilities that may arise. I’ve sat with enough women after their births to know that feeling blindsided can be one of the hardest parts of the experience to process. That’s why I prioritize helping families walk into birth informed, prepared, and grounded.
During labor, I offer a calm, steady presence. I provide hands-on comfort measures, emotional reassurance, and support for the natural physiology of birth while helping your nervous system stay regulated. When a woman feels safe and supported, her body is able to work more efficiently and intuitively. My role is to stand beside you — advocating when needed, offering guidance, and making sure you never feel alone in the process. Postpartum care receives the same level of intention from me as birth support. The early weeks after birth are a sacred and tender time. I focus on rest, nutrient-dense nourishment, emotional processing, and practical support so that you can recover, bond with your baby, and move through the transition into motherhood feeling restored rather than depleted. More than anything, my role is to make sure you feel truly seen and supported. When a woman is cared for in that way during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, she often discovers a depth of strength within herself that is incredibly powerful to witness — and it’s something I feel honored to support every day.
