Hi, I'm Tykeshia! As a culturally trained birth and postpartum doula, I am rooted in traditional and spiritual practice, and this work is truly my calling. My offerings include supporting families in developing birth plans, connecting to community and resources, advocacy, and system navigation, with an emphasis on supporting the family as a whole. I provide a compassionate and emotional presence before labor and birth, and for up to a year afterward, if a family chooses.
I have a deep passion for supporting my community, and my commitment to supporting the Black and Brown community remains unwavering. It is our birthright to experience birth as it should be experienced: joyful, protected, and honored.
My philosophy is rooted in reminding every family of the power they naturally possess to protect their birth plan and keep their moments sacred for themselves and their family. I keep families updated and informed of all their options, and I make sure I am available to provide continuous and genuine support before, during, and after birth.
Overall, my goal is to honor, respect, and support these sacred moments, doing everything in my power to preserve their meaning for every family I serve.
