Hi, my name is Valerie Woitte, and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula. I knew years ago, with the birth of my daughter, that women need to feel supported and safe during labor and delivery. It’s my passion to help guide, support, and nurture the laboring mother and partner during this life-changing event. After working for a third-party administrator for over 25 years, I decided to follow a dream and become a birth and postpartum doula. I’m so honored at every birth to be a part of this life-changing event. I feel as though my life and the birth of my three children add value to the work I do with mothers and their partners. I knew with my very first birth that a doula was so needed by the side of every laboring woman. I remember begging the nurse not to leave my side while I labored. Her experience and nurturing presence as a woman enabled me to find the strength to labor and feel secure.
My goal is to work with women and their families to create a safe space to labor and deliver and to experience the full joy of birth. I would especially love to work with low-income mothers and teens in providing affordable birth support and care.
I am educated and experienced in childbirth and the postpartum period. I'm prepared to provide physical (non-medical), emotional, and informational support to women and their partners during labor and birth, as well as to families in the weeks following childbirth. I offer a loving touch, positioning, and comfort measures that make childbearing women and families feel nurtured and cared for.
